Mark’s Gospel - We will center our attention on the crucifixion of Jesus (Mark 15). What happened to Jesus physically, emotionally, and spiritually? Why was it necessary? What is the good news of the cross? Make time to meditate on Mark 15 before you come to worship this Lord’s Day.
Diaconate – As we announced a couple of months ago, we are forming a diaconate (a group of deacons) to serve the church. They will be authorized to take care of the business and administrative matters of the church (e.g, budget, lease, benevolence). They will not be authorized or expected to take care of pastoral duties such as teaching, preaching, or the care of souls. The following men desire to serve as deacons and meet the qualifications set forth in scripture: Aaron Ellis, Brandon Musgrove, and Jason Toombs. They have already been serving informally for the past few months, but we want to recognize them formally, and ordain them to the diaconate, in order that they may do the work of deacons as deacons.
